Company publications are an inherent element of the company’s promotion. An article, presentation, leaflet, folder, catalogue or website – they all require a perfect layout and typesetting which will enable legibility and aesthetics. This scope of works constitutes an additional service in our translations.
Composing the text and graphics for printed publication requires experience in desktop publishing. Company publications which require maintaining the standards of visual identification after being translated into a foreign language should be properly presented. An exceptional situation may include the necessity to compose a completely new layout in the case of publication of information or promotional materials, e.g. in Arabic countries or on the Chinese market. Such activity must comply with the standards adopted by the company on a foreign market and the translation alone must be done in accordance with the standards of language localisation.
The translation of materials in electronic form does not require a thorough preparation of editing work. In this case, it is usually sufficient to replace the text in short promotional content, e.g. a display type advertisement, or convert the graphics into the required size. In the case of more complex publications such as e-magazines, the DTP process is almost identical as in the case of print, yet it ends at the stage of closing a large PDF file which cannot be sent by email or placed on a website.
